It was reported on Heart’s website message board that Heart will go into the studio today to begin recording on their next album. 2004’s Jupiter’s Darling was the last studio album Heart released.

With the success of the Journey, Heart, Cheap Trick tour here’s hoping those who were blown away by Heart will take the time to get the new album and discover what Mongers have known for ages, that Heart is still one of the best Rock bands out there and they aren’t done yet.

Last night, I decided to try and get to bed early. I fired off a few posts on Heart’s official open message board, where all my Monger buddies hang out, and then I went to bed.

This morning when I woke, I started my daily ritual. While having my morning cup o joe and the first ciggie of the day I logged on to Heart’s message board and to my surprise the proverbial shit had hit the proverbial fan over at Heart-music.com. Apparently the McCain/Palin camp decided to use Heart’s Barracuda as a theme song of sorts for Sara “Barracuda” Palin. Some of Heart’s fans were up in arms, assuming that Heart must have been aware of the use of their song and approved it.

Although Heart has never, to my knowledge, publicly stated their political affiliations, they’ve openly supported Democratic issues and Democratic candidates over the years. Cameron Crowe, Nancy Wilson’s husband of 22 years, was spotted at the Democratic National Convention last week. While I’m not playing the guilt by association card here, I think it’s safe to assume Ann and Nancy are democrats.

Due to the overwhelming comments and inability to follow the rules and regs, Magic Man closed down the official Heart BBs today for a few days. All of this is due to the whole Barracuda / McCain/Palin issue. More on that later.
